Rail services disruption from Mid Wales to Birmingham International - here's why

National Rail Enquiries said that the incident, near Welshpool, means that there is disruption for trains travelling between Aberystwyth and Birmingham International - through Mid Wales and the West Midlands.
It said that trains could be cancelled as a result - although it is hoped the issues will be resolved by 12.15pm.
An update on the National Rail Enquiries website said: "A fault with the barriers at a level crossing in the Welshpool area means that all lines are blocked.
"As a result, trains running between Machynlleth and Shrewsbury may be cancelled or revised.
"Disruption is expected until 12:15."
