Police incident closes road in Wednesbury after residents 'heard gunshots'
A road has been closed in Wednesbury due to a police incident resulting in buses being diverted in the town.

Police response teams are searching a Wednesbury street after resident s reported hearing gunshots.
Hydes Road is blocked between the junction of Paul's Street, Hackwood Road and Chestnut Road near The Croft public house in the Mesty Croft area of the town.
Officers initially arrived in the area shortly after 10pm last night (Wednesday, February 5) following reports of an undisclosed incident in the street.
However, residents in the area told the Express & Star gunshots were heard.
Paul's Street resident Becky Hill, aged 40, a housewife, said: "My other half heard a gunshot and so did a woman who lives in Hydes Road. We've got a drone camera and we put it in the air to see what was happening.
"The police cordoned off the road at about 11.15pm.
"My partner went down to speak to the officers who said there'd been an incident, but the people involved had dispersed. We could see a white car with some damage and broken glass near it near the corner with Chestnut Road.
"Hydes Road resident Demi Jones, aged 31, said: " I noticed police arriving outside my house from about 10.30 last night. We saw flashing lights and heard sirens from police cars and the road was taped off."It's always been a quiet road. We've never seen anything like it around here and we've lived here for seven years."West Midlands Police have been approached for comment.
West Midlands Police closed Hydes Road near the town Centre shortly after 6.30am.National Express West Midlands said the number 47 buses have been diverted away from the area.
The operator posted on social media platform X: "Due to an Emergency service lead incident at Hydes Road Wednesbury 47 is on diversion. Both directions via: Woden Road South and Bridge Street."
"We apologise for any disruption to your journey."
Traffic monitoring website Inrix said the incident in the Paul Street and Chestnut Road vicinity stating: "Hydes Road in both directions closed due to a police incident from Paul Street to Chestnut Road. Diversion - bus route 47."
West Midlands Police has been contacted for comment.
