Thousands would attend summer evening meetings at Monmore Green, watching world class racing and meeting up with friends.
The historic club first raced at Monmore in 1928, and its legions of dedicated supporters across the city were left devastated when stadium owners Entain Group pulled the plug on race meetings in April 2023.
Now Monmore Green concentrates on greyhound racing, and the summer evenings around East Park no longer reverberate to the sound of speedway.
