Engineers from South Staffs Water were called to Strathmore Road in Tipton and Birmingham New Road near Tividale on Wednesday after reports of burst water mains under the roads.
The engineers were called to Birmingham New Road near Princess End at around 10.22am and worked to stop the burst and restore supplies to the area.
It was later confirmed on social media at about 1.30pm that the supply had been restored, while repairs were continuing to be done on the main, with South Staffs Water also warning customers of the possibility of low pressure and discoloured water.
A spokesman for South Staffs Water said: "We are aware of a burst main on Birmingham New Road in Tipton, which was causing low pressure or no water for customers in DY4 and WV14.
"Our engineers have now restored supplies to those affected. Our team will be onsite continuing to carry out a repair on the main and a short-term lane closure will be in place.
"Please allow extra time for journeys if you're travelling around the area.
"As supplies return, you may experience pressure lower than normal and see some aerated (water that is cloudy) or discoloured water. If that happens, run your kitchen taps for 20 minutes to help clear this up.
"We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. Thank you for your patience."
A further burst was also reported on Strathmore Road around 9.15am, with engineers called in to repair the main and an update posted on the South Staffs Water website that supplies had been restored at around 1.25pm.
