A 100 metre exclusion zone has been set up on Thimble Mill Lane, which includes Birmingham's Aston Train Station within it, after a member of public alerted West Midlands Police to the set up at around 6.10am.

Roads remained closed and trains blocked on the Cross City Line between Birmingham New Street and Lichfield Trent Valley while officers recovered drugs manufacturing equipment and a quantity of chemicals from the scene.

The chemicals and equipment were sent to West Midlands Fire Service for tests while a cordon has remained in place on Thimble Mill Lane.
