Two people have attended hospital and buses diverted following a crash in Walsall.

West Midlands Police rushed to the scene of Edison Road, Beechdale, Walsall, at around 12pm on Monday to reports of a collision on the route.

Officers discovered that a car had failed to stop at the scene of the crash, with the vehicle being found abandoned a short distance away. 

Two people were also found and were advised to attend hospital to be checked over. 

West Midlands Police is now appealing for information relating to the crash, with enquiries taking place around the area. 

Anyone with information is asked to get in touch with West Midlands Police via the Live Chat service on their website, or alternatively via their 101 number, quoting log number 1958 of 3 Feb. 

Bus diversions

Three bus services were also forced to divert from their regular route of travel following the crash 

The incident was reported to have taken place at around 12.30pm, with National Express West Midlands warning of route changes due to the closure. 

The 69 and 70A will now continue along Cavendish Road, with the 70 instead continuing along Stephenson Avenue.

On X, National Express West Midlands said: "Due to an incident on Edison Road, Beechdale, 69 and 70A continuing along Cavendish Road. 70 continuing along Stephenson Ave. We apologise for any disruption to your journey."

Emergency services have been approached for more information.
