Increased patrols and investigation launched after shots fired on Birmingham street

An investigation has been launched after shots were fired at a street in Birmingham in the early hours on Tuesday morning.

West Midlands Police have launched the investigation after shots were fired from a vehicle on Dovedale Road at around 1am.

The force said that no one was injured in the incident and it has increased patrols in the area and begun carrying out CCTV and house to house enquiries.

It has also asked for anyone with any information to get in touch as soon as possible.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We're investigating after shots were fired at an address in Birmingham yesterday morning.

"It's believed shots were fired from a vehicle that pulled up on Dovedale Road at around 1am.

"No one was injured, and enquiries continue.

"We have increased patrols in the area to reassure the public and we are carrying out CCTV and house to house enquiries.

"We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has either vehicle dashcam, or other CCTV footage of the incident.
