Dylan Maskery Hurd, 18, and Callum Talbot, 23, have been charged following the incident on Brooke Road in Wombourne on September 11.

Maskery Hurd, of Hanley, and Talbot, of Featherstone, launched an attack on a motorist and demanded his keys before taking them out of his pocket themselves.

The pair then made off with the victim's Volkswagen Golf R.

Although the defendants brandished a knife during the attack, the victim was not seriously injured.

Officers later found the car abandoned on a car park off Terrace Street in Brierley Hill.

They were able to identify the offenders through CCTV footage and evidence.

Dylan Maskery Hurd and Callum Talbot appeared at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Monday after being charged with offences relating to the robbery last year.

They were both charged and eventually pleaded guilty to robbery at their court appearance on Monday.

Maskey Hurd and Talbot have been remanded ahead of their sentencing on March 21.

Detective Sergeant Marc Proctor said: “We’re tightening the net on those involved in serious acquisitive crime each and every day across Staffordshire.

“I can assure local communities that burglary, theft and robbery remains a key focus area for proactive officers who are working around the clock to stop to those responsible and put them before the courts.”
