Officers from the West Midlands Police Road Crime Team saw the grey Nissan being driven in Wolverhampton on Saturday and pursued it after checks found it to be stolen and cloned.

The officers were assisted in the pursuit by the National Police Air Service, with the car eventually coming to a halt and the driver being seen exiting the car with a very young child.

He was stopped and arrested after further checks found he was disqualified from driving, while the child was safeguarded by officers.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Road Crime Team officers saw this cloned & stolen car in Wolverhampton.

"It was observed with the help of National Police Air Service Midlands as the driver exited with a very young child before we stopped him plus he was already disqualified from driving so was arrested & the child was safeguarded.
