Paul Clemson, the boyfriend of murdered sex worker Helen Kempster, told the jury that his girlfriend was a good person who cared about others in a witness statement to Wolverhampton Crown Court.

However, he also claimed she took heroin and smoked crack cocaine and had admitted to him she had stolen money from clients.

Evidence of the lifestyle he and Miss Kempster lived emerged in the statement, which was read out on the fourth day of the trial of Rahul Sharma by prosecuting solicitor Peter Glenser KC.
