Police issue update after man, 36, arrested on suspicion of murder following death in Dudley
Police have issued an update after a 36-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murdering a man in his 40s.
The man was found with fatal injuries in Swancote Road, Dudley, on Saturday.
West Midlands Police have now confirmed that the 36-year-old man who was arrested has been released on bail.
An initial post-mortem examination into the man's death has 'proven inconclusive' in establishing the cause of death.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "A 36-year-old man has been bailed in relation to his arrest on suspicion of murder.
"An initial post-mortem examination has proven inconclusive in establishing the cause of death of a man in his 40s."
Officers were called to the address by ambulance colleagues just before 2.30am on Saturday.
Despite the efforts of medical teams, the man died from his injuries.
Following police enquiries, the 36-year-old in Wednesbury was arrested a few hours later on the same day on suspicion of murder.
The spokesperson said: "Further tests will be carried out and our enquiries about the circumstances are continuing."
