Parents of man accused of rape and murder 'tried to stop him' visiting 'city's red light district'
A man accused of beating to death a Wolverhampton sex worker was a regular visitor to the city's red light district.

Rahul Sharma, 31, is accused of the rape and murder of Helen Kempster who was found with fatal injuries in Kingsland Road, West Park in the early hours of June 16, 2022.
Opening the case at Wolverhampton Crown Court, Peter Glenser KC said CCTV evidence linking Sharma on the night to the area of Kingsland Road and Newhampton Road - the city's known red light district - was clear and that his parents had tried to stop him visiting the area.
He said: "The emergency services were called to the scene by Sharma at around 4am and found him with his father and his mother who was in the car.
"They had reported someone had taken a drug overdose and was unconscious but breathing.
"The ambulance crew found Miss Kempster lifeless with drugs equipment strewn around the immediate area.
