Collision on Bilston Road tram lines temporarily halts Metro services

Trams have been temporarily halted between Priestfield and Wolverhampton due to a collision on the lines running through Bilston Road.

The A41 has been partially blocked with queueing traffic due to the collision, which happened near Burger King. 

The incident was reported to the AA at around 4.20pm this afternoon. It is said to have happened on the tram lines and is affecting Metro services through the city as a result. 

Metro tickets are being accepted on the number 79 bus. 

West Midlands Metro said in a post on X: "Due to an RTC on Bilston Road trams are unable to operate between Priestfield & Wolverhampton.

 "Trams are running between Priestfield & Edgbaston Village only."
