'There were lights everywhere - it's such a shame': Residents react following fatal Wolverhampton crash that killed 20-year-old driver
Residents have described their shock following a crash that killed a 20-year-old man in Wolverhampton this morning.

The tragic collision, which involved a car hitting a wall, killed the driver on Bilston Road, near the junction with Ettingshall Road and Bilston Road.
The crash took place at around 1.35am on Tuesday morning, with emergency services rushing to the scene.
Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a critical care car from the Midlands Air Ambulance attended the scene, where they found the man trapped in the vehicle in a critical condition.
Sadly, despite the efforts of medical teams, the man died at the scene.
"I heard a bit of a crash in the distance, but I didn't expect it to be so bad," said Salema Khan, 43, from Bilston Road.
"I didn't realise that someone had died until I read the news, It's such a shame."
Amir Shota, 38, another resident of Bilston Road, said: "We live quite close to where it happened.
"I heard something that sounded like a crash and it woke my children up.
"I couldn't see anything until the police turned up though, but when they did there were lights everywhere.
"I didn't know someone had died until this morning. It's got to be horrible for the man's family."
Motorists were warned of heavy traffic following the fatal crash.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said this morning: "Ambulance staff arrived to find a car which had collided with a wall.
"The driver, a man, was trapped and in a critical condition.
"Ambulance staff worked with fire colleagues to rapidly extricate him from the car and commenced advanced life support.
"Sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, the man’s life couldn’t be saved.”
Rosie Hughes, 24, from Bilston, who regularly drives the route as part of her school run, said: "It does look really bad.
"I saw that a man had died. It's horrible to think about really.
"The road isn't usually that bad so, It's really shocking. I feel for his family and friends."
West Midlands Fire Service also attended the incident, where fire personel used cutting equipment to free the driver.
A West Midlands Fire Service spokesperson said: "We responded to Bilston Road, close to the junction of Dixon Street and Ettingshall Road in Wolverhampton.
"A fire engine from Bilston and a fire engine from Wolverhampton responded, both arriving within four minutes of being mobilised.
"This was a collision between a car and a wall. The car came to rest on all four wheels.
"Firefighters used cutting equipment to free a male driver from the affected vehicle, who received immediate first aid from attending paramedics.
"Very sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency services staff, he was confirmed to have died at the scene.
"Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this incident.We left the scene at 2.42am, with police colleagues in attendance."
In a statement, West Midlands Police confirmed that the man's family has been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Ettingshall Road at its junction with Bilston Road shortly after 1.30am this morning.
"Despite the best efforts from officers and our colleagues from the ambulance service the man was declared dead at the scene.
"His family have been informed and our specially trained officers are supporting them at this difficult time."
The road has since reopened, with West Midlands Police asking for anyone with information relating to the crash to get in touch with them via their 101 number, or via the Live Chat service on their website, quoting log number 158 of 7 January.
