Rowan Steels, based in Edwin Road, has acquired Birmingham steel shearing specialist BIL Steels in a deal worth more than £750,000.

The business said the move would safeguard its position as the leading supplier of sheared blanks in the UK and the initial forecasts were positive with more jobs likely to be created, despite challenging times for the industry.

Rowans says the of the acquisition of the family-owned BIL's will strengthen both businesses’ ability to offer their services to customers nationally and continue to support the UK’s manufacturing industry.
