'It's going to be freezing in there': Walsall residents left without water share concerns after being left using portable toilets amid cold snap

Walsall residents who have been left without water for more than four days following a power cut have shared concerns after their landlord gave them external portable toilets to use.

The concern comes as the West Midlands and the wider UK prepare to enter a cold snap, with temperatures expected to plummet to lows of minus 8C in some areas. 

The water stopped flowing through their flats in Wave Close, Walsall, following a power surge that 'blew' several main components of the building's industrial water pump.

Landlords, Green Square Accord, said that while the replacement parts have been ordered, they may take up to five days to arrive. 

To accompany the lack of toilet facilities, Green Square Accord has now provided the residents with 10 portable toilets, which will 'be located outside' for the resident's use. 

A letter, sent to residents by Green Square Accord and revealed by one of the residents of the address, read: "The pump contractor has successfully sourced the necessary parts, however, these parts will not arrive until early next week.
