Traffic police catch fleeing drug dealer and return stolen car on Christmas Eve to owner

Police in Dudley have had a busy Christmas week catching car thieves and catching drug dealers.

West Midlands Police Traffic team spotted a cloned and stolen VW Golf in Brierley Hill and gave chase. The driver was no match for the professional drivers and crashed and tried to make a run for it. The pursuing cops caught him and found he had more than 150 wraps of drugs.

The Traffic team tweeted: "#RoadCrimeTeam officers pursued this cloned & stolen VW Golf in Brierley Hill after it was seen by the #ANPRInterceptors.

"The driver crashed & decamped before being arrested plus we found he was in possession of more than 150 wraps of class A drugs & some £££."

One car owner was given the perfect Christmas present after the police returned his stolen car to him on Christmas Eve.

The Traffic team tweeted: "This car was stolen on Xmas Eve a short time before we saw it in Dudley - E Unit #ANPRinterceptors used tactics to stop it. The driver was arrested & the car was returned to a grateful owner only hours after it was stolen. *Please consider after market security for your vehicles."
