The toddler died on December 14 when a Porsche Cayenne crashed head-on with a Toyota Auris carrying him and four adults in Dartmouth Road in Smethwick.
His mother Khushpreet was so seriously injured she was still unaware of her son's death two weeks after the devastating crash.
Shehbaz's uncle Indy Singh set up a GoFundMe fundraiser five days ago to raise money for the funeral and future care for Khushpreet.
The fundraiser has already clocked up £3,197 with over 100 people donating money.
In an emotional post, the uncle said: "The night of December 14 is one we will never forget, a driver caused the death of my two-year-old nephew, injuries to my brother and multiple severe injuries to my sister-in-law.
"My younger brother, Amritpal, his wife, Khushpreet, and their two-year-old son, Shehbaz Singh, were driving the few minutes home from a lovely dinner at a friends house when a driver crashed into them causing the death of two-year-old Shehbaz, injuring Amritpal and leaving Khushpreet in critical care in hospital."
"The driver fled the scene."
Paying tribute to the grieving parents, he said: "My brother and his wife are the nicest people you could meet.
"They’ve always put others before themselves and are incredibly hardworking and dedicated to making a better life for themselves and their two-year-old son.
"Now, in the blink of an eye, the family has been devastated with the death of two-year-old Shehbaz."
He added: "His mum, Khushpreet, remains in critical care in hospital. She is so ill she doesn’t yet know of Shehbaz’s death. It was just earlier this month we were celebrating Shehbaz’s second birthday and now we are having to plan his funeral.
"We don’t know if Shehbaz’s mum, Khushpreet, will be able to attend the funeral as she is still sedated in critical care and very very ill. Can you help with donations that will help pay for two-year-old Shehbaz’s funeral?
"We hope to raise more than the cost of the funeral with any left over going to help Shehbaz’s mum and dad recover and to provide care and support for Khushpreet in the future."
Sharjeel Shahzad, 30, of Cooksey Lane, Great Barr, was remanded in custody after being charged with the crash which caused the toddler's death. He indicated through his solicitor he was pleading not guilty.
