Whether it’s an ill-fitting scarf, a gadget gathering dust, or a novelty item stashed at the back of a cupboard, Sue Ryder charity shops are encouraging people to bring their unwanted in for resale.

The initiative not only helps declutter homes after the festive season but also supports the charity’s efforts to provide care to those facing terminal illnesses and those grieving the loss of a loved one.

Sue Ryder has almost 400 shops located across the UK - including locations in Wolverhampton, Tamworth, Great Barr and Birmingham.

Donations will directly contribute to ensuring that individuals entering the New Year with difficult challenges can access the support they need by funding hospices, palliative care and bereavement services.

Anthony Barlow, a Senior Regional Manager for the charity, said: “Christmas is a wonderful time for exchanging gifts, but the reality is, most of us will end up with items that will only end up gathering dust.

"If you’re still feeling in the gift-giving mood and want to declutter post-Christmas, you can always regift any unwanted presents to Sue Ryder.

“By donating to us, you’ll be doing your bit for the environment, whilst helping the charity support people through the most difficult time of their lives, all the while creating a fresh and cleared home, ready for 2025.

“This New Year, we’re welcoming everything from quality clothes, household goods, electricals, books, toys as well as accessories and collectibles.”

For larger items like furniture, the charity offers free collection services, which can be arranged via its website.
