Father Christmas was the guest of honour at a special afternoon event at the Stack Kitchen at Baggeridge on Sunday.

The event on Sunday was a special Christmas-themed afternoon tea with Santa taking a table and meeting children to hear what they hoped he would be bringing them on Christmas Day.

The elves were also present to give out gifts to all those meeting Santa, as well as a certificate, and there were plenty of Christmas-themed activities throughout the day.

Staff member Holly Richards said the whole weekend at the cafe had been a great success, detailing what Santa had been up to throughout that time.

She said: "We've had a really fabulous weekend and had great support from all the families who have come here.

"We had breakfast with Santa as an event on Saturday and we even had cocktails with Santa on Friday night, so he has been super busy while he's been here.

"We've been very lucky that he's spent lots of time here with us this weekend. I would hope I'm on his good list as I've been working super hard and I've been a good girl all year!"
