However, it doesn't appear there will be a white Christmas this year as the forecast shows a mild and dry festive period for the West Midlands.
This week's Met Office forecast shows a cloudy Christmas Eve with some drizzly outbreaks earlier in the day, turning drier through to the afternoon.
Tuesday will also bring very mild temperatures reaching 13 degrees in some areas, and some bright and sunny peaks in the afternoon.
To the delight of some and the dismay of others, there isn't expected to be any snow on Christmas Day as temperatures are expected to stay mild on Wednesday, reaching highs of 11 degrees and lows of nine.
It might even be dark when you get woken up by the little ones to open presents, as sunrise is not expected until 8.20am.
Make sure to have plenty of festive spirit as the weather will generally be gloomy and cloudy, but dry with some possible breaks of sunshine throughout the day.
For those who were dreaming of a white Christmas, it is likely that the next snowfall will be around Easter time next year.
