Boy, 17, airlifted to hospital after stabbing near Wolverhampton park

A teenager was airlifted to hospital with "serious injuries" after being found with a stab wound at a Wolverhampton park.

Police were called to West Park just after 1pm today (December 19), where a 17-year-old boy was discovered hurt.

He was taken to hospital with a stab injury which is not thought to be life-threatening, a West Midlands Police spokesman said.

The spokesman added: "Enquiries are now ongoing at the scene and anyone with information can contact us via 101, or Live Chat, quoting log number 2188 of December 19."

The West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed crews were called to reports of a stabbing near to the junction of Park Road East and Devon Road at 1.06pm.

A spokesman said: "One ambulance, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor with a Critical Care Paramedic and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene. 

"On arrival we discovered one patient, a teenage male. He was treated for serious injuries before being airlifted to hospital."
