Smoke billows across M6 after vehicle fire - lanes closed in both directions with severe delays
The M6 in Birmingham is closed in both directions, near the NEC, this morning after a vehicle fire which left smoke billowing across the motorway lanes.

Motorists are being urged to use other routes due to the incident which happened on the M6 southbound carriageway at the Water Orton interchange between J4A and Junction J4 near the M42 link.
Posting on 'X' social media platform West Midlands Roads stated: "Due to the severity of the smoke, the motorway is currently closed in both directions. Delays are increasing on the approach. Consider other routes for your journey."
