Ofsted visited Idsall School on November 12 and 13 for the first full inspection since it was rated as inadequate in 2022.

The education watchdog has made four monitoring visits since the damning report and has now reported significant improvements at the Shifnal school.

Pupils at the school, which is part of the Marches Academy Trust, were previously said to have poor behaviour - a central reason to why it was rated inadequate.

In the report published in 2022, it was said that pupils did "not feel safe" and harassment or discriminatory behaviour among pupils was a "frequent" occurrence.

However, in a report published today (December 17), Idsall School's behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and sixth-form provision have all been rated 'Good' by inspectors, and the school has been removed from special measures.

The report concluded stating: "His Majesty’s Chief Inspector is of the opinion that the school no longer requires special measures."
