The massive crane, which dominated the skyline on the site between Bell Street and Cleveland Street, close to the Mander Centre, was taken down on Monday.
The area was originally earmarked to become the Wolverhampton Council's long-awaited 'box space', and hoardings around the site in Cleveland Street still say that the space will be opening this year.
