Smethwick collision: Man, 30, arrested following fatal collision in which two-year-old died

A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a fatal collision where a two-year-old died.
The arrest comes following a collision between two cars on Dartmouth Road, Smethwick, on Saturday, December 14.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 11pm following reports of the crash, quickly finding four adults, two of whom were described as being in a "serious condition".
Two other adults, both aged 30, were said to be stable.
Tragically, despite the efforts of emergency services, a two-year-old boy was sadly confirmed deceased.
Announcing the arrest, a West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We have this afternoon arrested a man after a two-year-old boy tragically died following a collision in Smethwick.
"We acted on information and detained a 30-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving on Dartmouth Road on Saturday evening (14 December).
"He is now in custody for questioning. A woman aged 29 and a 30-year-old man remain in a serious condition in hospital following the collision."
