Quarry Bank park scheme gets boost from developers
A successful £1.8 million programme of National Lottery-funded improvement works at a Quarry Bank park is being boosted by cash from local developers.

Stevens Park has been granted £16,000 of Section 106 money, which will be used to create a link pathway from the steps of the park’s café terrace and to provide additional street furniture including seating within the park.
A programme of restoration and development works has taken place on the site over the last three years, following a successful application for National Heritage Lottery funding from Dudley Council and its partners.
Work has included the restoration and extension of Tintern House as well as new heritage interpretation, access to the memorial garden and footpaths. The lottery funding has also enabled charity and training projects to take place at the park, with community funding and events in place until 2025.
Councillor Damian Corfield, cabinet member for highways and environment, said: “Stevens Park has undergone a fantastic programme of works with the Heritage Lottery Funding, and its great to see Tintern House back in community use.
“This Section 106 funding will help to improve access to the café and will provide new outdoor seating for park visitors.
“I’d like to thank the Friends group and other community groups and volunteers for everything they do at the park.”
Visitors will be able to access the park and house throughout the works.
