The upbeat romantic comedy, which can be seen on Wednesday and Thursday, December 4 and 5,at 7pm, was chosen through a student vote and features a 60-strong cast and behind-the-scenes support.
Year 11 student Toby Smith plays the part of Troy Bolton, star captain of the school’s basketball team, who falls for nerdy beauty Gabrielle Montez, performed by Daisy Innes-Davies from Year 10,during a holiday.
On their return, they audition for the school musical, facing opposition from other students, notably the envious Sharpay Evans played by Year 9 student Izzy Hale.
