A Wolverhampton restaurant has been listed in a prestigious national listing of the Top 100 Restaurants for 2024.
The stylish venue which serves classic Italian dishes is featured in the guide alongside Birmingham’s two Michelin starred restaurant Opheem.
Wolverhampton’s Fiume Italian Bar & Restaurant on Bridgnorth Road, in Compton, and Opheem are the only two restaurants from the West Midlands to make it onto the listing from OpenTable which looks at diners reviews to determine the best.
The top rated restaurant has an overall rating of 4.8 on OpenTable from 1470 reviews. On being featured in the listing, Fiume said: “This recognition means the world to us, as it reflects the trust and love of the wonderful people who dine with us.
“To our incredible customers: thank you. Your continued support, loyalty, and kind words have been the foundation of our journey.
“Whether you’ve celebrated a special occasion with us, shared a quiet meal, or simply enjoyed our ravioli or cocktails, you’ve all played a part in this achievement.”
Fiume owners Stefano and Caral opened the Italian restaurant in 2013. They pride themselves in offering quality, modern interpretations of classic dishes inspired by their home regions of Sardinia and Basilicata.
They have previously commented: “As Italians we are passionate about everything we do and food and drink are hugely important to our culture as we meet with friends and family to enjoy our time together.
“At Fiume you will experience a little of this culture as we share it with you. We provide authentic Italian cuisine with a southern Italian influence and a fresh twist.
“We are proud to be an independent, family-run, Italian bar and restaurant offering you a relaxing, family-friendly atmosphere.
“During the good weather, you can also dine alfresco whilst watching the passing canal boats and your family dog can watch with you too.”
