A person had to be rescued from a car in Walsall after becoming stranded in flood water in the aftermath of Storm Bert this morning.
West Midlands Fire Service issued an update about the incident at around 8.45am this morning (Sunday, November 24) after they attended with teams from Bloxwich and their Tech Rescue service.
Earlier WMFS urged locals to take care warning that strong winds and rain caused by Storm Bert could cause hazards and disruption. No other information has been given about the rescue this morning at this stage.
Yesterday the adverse weather saw events cancelled across the Black Country and Staffordshire.
While the area was not as badly affected as other areas, Christmas light switch-on events scheduled to bring thousands of people out to celebrate the festival season had to be cancelled due to fears around adverse weather conditions.
