Wolverhampton-born Liam tragically fell from a balcony of a hotel in Argentina on October 16, aged 31.
Zayn Malik, his former One Direction bandmate, has now announced on social media that he has had to reschedule his Edinburgh dates for his Stairway to the Sky tour due to "unforeseen circumstances.”
His Instagram story read: “Due to unforeseen circumstances Zayn’s ‘Stairway to The Sky’ Edinburgh show originally scheduled for November 20 has been rescheduled to the 8th of December. And the Edinburgh show originally scheduled for the 21st of November has been rescheduled for the 9th of December. All tickets for original show dates will be honoured on the rescheduled dates.”
Zayn was due begin his first solo tour on October 23, but postponed those dates until next January following the death of his fellow singer.
In October, Zayn posted a message on X, formerly Twitter, which read: "Given the heartbreaking loss experienced this week, I've made the decision to postpone the US leg of the STAIRWAY TO THE SKY Tour.
"The dates are being rescheduled for January and I'll post them as soon as it's all set in the next few days. Your tickets will remain valid for the new dates. Love you all and thank you for your understanding."
Zayn has also has penned The Halls in Wolverhampton as one of the locations where he is still set to perform on November 29.
Now, the 31-year-old One Direction singer's body lies in the chapel of rest, where his family are able to say their goodbyes privately. The family are finalising the funeral arrangements for the 'son of Wolverhampton'.
Almost four weeks passed before Payne’s father Geoff Payne was finally able to bring his son’s body back home to the UK.
Following his shock death, dozens gathered to lay flowers at vigils in tribute to the father-of-one including in his home city and in Birmingham.
Growing up, Liam attended the St Peter's Collegiate School on Compton Road, Wolverhampton from 2005, and enjoyed performing arts classes at Pink Productions based in Wolverhampton from the age of 12.
On the day of Liam Payne’s funeral, family and friends will gather at a church in Wolverhampton.
It has been speculated that it could either be the city centre St Peter's Collegiate Church or St Paul's Church, Pendeford, which is closer to the Payne family.
Meanwhile, fans of the singer are expected to line the streets of Wolverhampton as the hearse passes through the city.
After the funeral service concludes, Liam’s body will be transferred to the cemetery for burial.
Following this, family and friends will come together for the wake — a time to share stories, celebrate his life, and cherish the memories they made together.
