West Midlands Police said the officers were out in areas where there's concern about the possession of weapons and detained one man wanted after an aggravated burglary where a knife was seen.
The suspect was also wanted on suspicion of a number of other burglaries and theft from vehicles and remains in the police cells today as investigations continue.
During the patrols, a man ran from officers in West Park, but was detained after a short chase, with a quantity of cannabis seized along with an offensive weapon.
The 30-year-old remains in custody on suspicion of possessing cannabis with intent to supply and possessing an offensive weapon.
A 32-year-old wanted on suspicion of burglary and failing to appear at court was also detained and was due before Walsall Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with burglary and failing to appear. No information is yet available on the court appearance.
A 39-year-old was arrested on suspicion of harassment while a 43-year-old was arrested on suspicion of domestic assault, with both remaining in custody as enquiries continue.
