Smethwick roads back to normal after bin lorry caused traffic disruption
Drivers this morning were advised to avoid Cape Hill High Street following a bin lorry fire, which has now been cleared.

West Midlands Roads shared the announcement on social media saying the incident happened on Friday while the bin lorry was going down Cape Hill near Durban Road in Smethwick.
Commuters were advised to take alternative routes due to the disruption caused on Cape Hill.
It also caused some disruption to public transport with National Express buses 54, 82, 87 and 89 using Windmill Lane and Grove Lane in both directions.
The roads have since been cleared and traffic is back to normal.
