It is believed the former One Direction star's body returned back to the UK this week.
The late singer died, aged 31, after falling from a third-floor balcony in Buenos Aires last month.
His funeral is expected to take place in his home city of Wolverhampton, though it is not yet clear when or where this may be.
Liam's family, who described feeling "heartbroken" in a statement issued shortly after he died, has requested privacy at this time.
Following his shock death, dozens gathered to lay flowers at vigils in tribute to the father-of-one including in his home city and in Birmingham.
A petition set up by a fan in the wake of the star's death calling for new legislation to safeguard the mental health of artists in the entertainment industry had been signed by more than 134,000 people as of Thursday (November 7) morning.
