The Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust reported the highest figure out of any other in the West Midlands.

The number of children referred to the trust’s mental health services has soared by 122-per-cent in the last three years with anxiety and depression the top referral reasons.

The number of children referred to mental health services at Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is the highest it has been in three years - with figures more than double what they were in 2021.

Child mental health referrals for anxiety were by far the most common but the trust has seen a big increase in referrals for 'suspected autism' and other neurodevelopmental conditions - with some figures skyrocketing by 222 per cent.
