The victim, aged in his 20s, was then threated, grabbed and forced against a wall before the pair began searching his pockets, during which the other three joined in.

During the attack, the victim was hit with a glass bottle and threatened with being stabbed and shot if he tried to run off. He was slapped, burned with a lighter and forced to take off his clothes, before being stamped on and kicked while on the floor.

The incident was recorded by members of the group who put the videos on social media - the same videos were used against them in court.

All five tried to deny their part in the attack, but were convicted following a trial.

Mohammed Hamza Miah, 23, of Frank Fisher Way, West Bromwich, was jailed in August for six and a half years for robbery, while Saleh Ahmed, 23, of Lozells Road, Nadir Mohammed, 23, of Pershore Road, and Roman Ahmed, 24, of Northleigh Road, Birmingham, were jailed for five-and-a-half years for attempted wounding.

Zeshan Hussain, 23, of Roway Lane, Oldbury, was jailed for five years for robbery.

DC Naomi Guzder of West Midlands Police's robbery team said: "This was a savage attack with the group prepared to use violence and then try to humiliate their victim.

"This backfired on them and they have all lost their freedom for a number of years."
