Crews battle house fire in Wolverhampton believed to have started in loft
Crews from six fire engines battled a house fire in Wolverhampton yesterday.
The fire is believed to have started in the loft space of the residential address at approximately 4.23pm on Saturday, April 24.
No injuries were reported and no one was evacuated.
West Midlands Police were also in attendance.
A spokeswoman from West Midlands Fire Service, said: "We had the initial call at 4.15pm and mobilised crews from Wolverhampton and Bilston to the incident.
"At 4.23pm a hydraulic platform was requested as the fire was discovered in the loft space of the property.
"At 4.30pm we sent crews from Tettenhall, Willenhall, Fallings Park and West Bromwich.
"We currently do not know what the cause of the fire was.
"No one has been evacuated and no injuries have been reported.
"Crews have isolated gas and electric to the property and will be there for some time this evening.
"The fire has been scaled back and crews are on their way from Aldridge and Bloxwich to take over."
West Midlands Fire Service warned that there would be no access to Lea Road between Owen Road and Fisher Street as the cordon remained in place yesterday evening.
The road reopened at around 9.30pm.
West Midlands Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
