Firefighters managed to rescue the pooch after a blaze erupted within a ground-floor flat in Willenhall.
A 10-strong team of firefighters from Bloxwich and Willenhall battled the fire in Lichfield Road, New Invention, after a 999 call was made at 6pm on July 26.
The cause of the fire, which started in the kitchen, is unknown but not thought to be suspicious, West Midlands Fire Service confirmed.
Willenhall Fire tweeted: "Call to a flat fire no persons involved, Willenhall firefighters rescued the little dog from the flat, he's safe and well thankfully.
"Please remember to check your home is safe before you leave, also ensure your pets safety when left unattended."
