Tail-wagging fundraiser for Wolverhampton's Compton Hospice
POOCHES are set to get their tails wagging as animal lovers across the region take on a 5km trek for terminally ill people.
Compton Hospice is calling on the community to put their best paw forward and pledge their support to its inaugural dog walk.
It will be the first time fundraisers will pour into Himley Hall and Park to raise cash for the hospice, with their canine companions in tow.
Event organiser Dawn Smith said: "We’re really excited and looking forward to seeing lots of people and their four-legged friends taking part in our Tail Waggers Trail Sponsored 5K next month.
"It looks set to be a great day at Himley with lots of stalls and what’s more, every dog and their owner that crosses the finish line will receive a medal and a goody bag thanks to our lovely sponsors Huggle Pets.
"We hope lots of people will join us in having fun with their dogs whilst raising vital funds for Compton."
Fundraisers and their four-legged friends will take part in the sponsored dog walk on Sunday, April 15.
Dog walkers will make their way across muddy paths and bumpy hills as they take in the sights of Himley Hall and Baggeridge Country Park.
The Compton Road West hospice has been providing care and support for families living with incurable illnesses across the Black Country, South Staffordshire and East Shropshire for the past 35 years.
The event starts at 10am and registration costs £12 per person, with dogs entered for free.
