West Brom raise more than £11,000 for charity with Cyrille Regis shirt auction
Albion have raised more than £11,000 for charity through the auction of their match-worn shirts dedicated to the late Cyrille Regis.
The Baggies were the jerseys with the Regis motif on the front for their 3-2 defeat to Southampton in the Premier League earlier this month.
They then auctioned off the shirts to raise cash for a charity chosen by the Regis family.
Daniel Sturridge’s shirt fetched the most cash, and sold for £1,705, while Ben Foster’s, Chris Brunt’s and Salomon Rondon’s all went for more than £1,000.
The total amount raised was £11,746.
Coventry City are holding a service to remember Regis at Coventry Cathedral at 4pm on Sunday, March 4.
Regis won the FA Cup with Coventry in 1987.
