Halesowen's blooming marvellous display wins top award
Halesowen has come top of the tree when it comes to looking blooming gorgeous.
The town's Halesowen in Bloom group won the category Urban Community of the year at this year's Heart of England in Bloom awards.
Judges praised the team for the quality of hanging baskets, the standard and maintenance of plants and shopkeepers, who have supported the watering of plant troughs in the the town.

The town's Leasowes Walled garden and finger post gardens were picked out as notable features.
Eve O'Connor, chairwoman of Halesowen in Bloom, said: "We have entered for four years, and in that time we have picked up a silver gilt and three golds.
"It has been particularly impressive this year as we have had to overcome challenges such as taking on more tasks such as the watering of plants.
"Next year we will be looking at the heirtage of the town, such as the button industry."
Around 180 delegates from villages, towns, urban communities and cities attended the presentation for this year’s entries at Warwick Castle.
President of Heart of England in Bloom, Les Goodman, said: “The judges are well aware of the hard work, commitment and enthusiasm that go into an entry.
"There is no doubt that the Heart of England campaign gives communities across the West Midlands and Gloucestershire a chance to improve the area in which they live through wonderful floral displays, environmental projects and community participation”.
