Airbnb hosts in West Midlands take in £10million

People living in the West Midlands took in £10million through Airbnb bookings in 14 months, the company has claimed.

In a report released this week, the firm said 132,000 people had booked through the website, using hosts in the region.

The company said the number of bookings, from July to this month, had more than doubled.

And it said the hosts took £10m in bookings, and the guests spent £52m in the region, generating a total £62m.

There are 4,300 Airbnb listings in the West Midlands, with each host earning around £2,400 according to the report.

The average number of nights booked with each host was 33.

People can become hosts by renting rooms in their home.
