SIX houses in same terrace go up for auction at the same time
A row of six houses in an idyllic village will go up for auction as part of a major sale event.
The homes at numbers 12, 14, 18, 20, 22 and 24 Battlefield Terrace, on Battlefield Lane, in Wombourne, near Wolverhampton, have all been given a guide price of £76,000 each.
The unique sale, which will take place at SDL Auctions Bigwood’s auction event next month, could prove to be a master stroke for budding property pioneers.
All six houses are being sold subject to long-term tenancies, which could bring in rents of more than £4,000 a year per property, according to experts.
Gurpreet Bassi, head of residential auctions at SDL Auctions, said: “This row of houses will make attractive investment opportunities from a total of 150 lots at what we predict will be a busy auction next month.
“We have a wide range of properties available: all types of flats and houses, a large number of plots of land for development and a great variety of commercial properties across the Midlands and beyond.”
The homes are just one lot out of 150 which are due to gather interest at the auction event.
Other notable sales will include the former Perry Barr police station.
The disused station, at 394 Walsall Road, has a guide price of £275,000 and if purchased, could be given a new lease of life by developers.
Other star lots include the former Bridge Training Centre on High Street in Wordsley, Stourbridge, with a guide price in excess of £450,000 to £500,000.
The site, which comes with planning permission to create nine apartments, is based in the Stourbridge Sixteen Locks Conservation Area and originally formed part of the Wordsley Flint Glassworks.
The description of the property states: “The premises, which are situated in the Stourbridge Sixteen Locks Conservation Area and comprise a range of primarily two storey buildings, are understood to have originally formed part of the Wordsley Flint Glassworks.
“They have more latterly been used as a business centre and have the benefit of planning permission for a change of use to convert the existing buildings into nine apartments together with associated car parking.
“The property is located on High Street, Wordsley (A491), about 1.5 miles to the north of Stourbridge town centre, in close proximity to the historic Red House Glass Cone and also to the Mill at Stuart Works which has recently been converted residential use.
“Other centres such as Wolverhampton and Dudley are about nine and five miles respectively whilst facilities such as Merry Hill Shopping Centre is about 2.5 miles and Russells Hall Hospital is about three miles.”
Another opportunity to transform a disused building which once held a place in the public’s heart is at the former Samson & Lion Public House on Newbolt Road in Bilston, which has a guide price of £190,000 to £200,000.
This includes planning permission to create two one-bedroomed apartments, five two-bedroomed apartments and the erection of three two-bedroomed houses.
A statement about the property says: “The property is situated off Newbolt Road in Bilston in a primarily residential locality about 0.5 miles from Bilston town Centre.
“Midland Metro tram services are available from Bilston Central which is about 0.5 miles.”
Meanwhile, a three-bedroomed terraced house at 4 Church Street in Tipton has a guide price in excess of £50,000, while a detached four-bedroomed house at 16 & 16a Bloxwich Road South in Willenhall has a guide price in excess of £78,000 to £83,000.
