'Local hero' praised for efforts to stop Rugeley armed robbery
A man helped tackle crowbar-wielding masked robbers who attacked cash delivery guards at a supermarket in Rugeley, it emerged today.

The Co-op in Springfield Road was targeted by three men at about 7.10am yesterday (Wednesday).
The raiders, who had their faces covered and were wearing dark clothing, threatened the guards who were inside the store at the machine.
A man, referred to as Earnest, was pushed to the ground as he tried to stop the robbers.
The three men then drove off in a white Audi.
Cannock Police tweeted: "Great work by Earnest, a local resident who intervened & stopped them. #localhero."
