Emergency services were called to Brook Street just after midnight on Thursday morning, where Barry Shillam was found with serious injuries.

The 52-year-old was taken to hospital but died a short time later. A post mortem has been conducted and further tests are due to be carried out to establish a cause of death.

Five people, who are believed to be known to the victim, were arrested and two were later released without charge.

A 39-year-old woman and two men, aged 40 and 46, appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court on Saturday morning charged with murder. They will reappear at Wolverhampton Crown Court tomorrow.

Detective Inspector Justin Spanner, from Force CID, said: "Family liaison officers continue to support the relatives of Mr Shillam in this difficult time.

"Although we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the inquiry we are still appealing for anyone who may have seen a disturbance near to Brook Street on Wednesday evening to come forward and call me or one of my team on 101."
