Huntington Indian restaurant facing closure in plan
An Indian restaurant on a main road between Cannock and Stafford could make way for a parade of shops under new plans.
The owners of the building that houses Blue Ginger in Stafford Road, Huntington, are behind the scheme.
But the boss of the restaurant, who leases the building from them, is against it and a 145-name objection petition has also been submitted to South Staffordshire Council.
However officers at the council say it should go ahead as it will boost the area.
Representative Will Charlton, speaking for restaurant boss Harun Miah, said he was unhappy about plans as it would force him to close his business. Mr Charlton said: "This would result in the closure of his business".
Parish councillor Jeff Ashley also has concerns. He said he was worried about a lack of parking.
Applicants S and N Patel will find out on Tuesday if the scheme will be approved.
