Stafford soldiers in fundraising run
A team of Stafford soldiers will be taking to the streets of Birmingham in full army gear to raise money for a cancer charity close to their hearts.

Six members of the 22 Signal regiment from MOD Stafford plan to run the Birmingham Half Marathon in October for the Marie Curie Cancer Care trust.
But for one of the runners, Sgt Pat McGeever, it will be extra poignant as his own father, also called Pat, has cancer and is currently being cared for in one of the charities hospices in Solihull.
Organiser, Warrant Officer Bill Sykes, said he and Pat had already entered, but decided to make it more of a challenge when his father went to the hospice.
Backpacks
"We have seen how well they are looking after him, and the family, so we want to raise money for them too," he said.
The team of six soldiers will be wearing full combats and also each carrying backpacks of 15kg.
There will also be other runners with them who will be collecting money from spectators along the way.
They hope to raise around £10,000 for the October 21 event.
