Meet Max, one of the first police dogs in the country to be fitted with a pioneering camera that will feed live sarch footage back to officers.
Staffordshire Police unveiled the equipment at a demonstration yesterday.
The new digital equipment, called FidoCam, will allow the police to cover a wider area much faster than at present.
The film transmitted will be clear enough to be used as evidence in court, chiefs say. Insp Chris Dawson, of the Staffordshire force's dog support unit, said the camera would "save a significant number of officer hours by reducing search times."
