The Codsall resident realised a lifelong ambition at The Mill Riding Centre in Pattingham. The day was set up by her close friend Kit Ballinger, who enlisted the help of Riding for the Disabled Association to fulfill Elsie's dream.
After being helped on to horse Jack, Elsie enjoyed a few laps of an indoor section of the riding centre, smiling all the way, watched on by her great grandchildren Isa-bella, five, and Alice, eight.
Elsie said she had always wanted to ride a horse when she lived on a farm in Stafford as a youngster, but her family could never afford to buy one.
She moved to Codsall around 10 years ago and has six great grandchildren in total, as well as 11 grandchildren and two daughters.
