Courier firm APC Overnight will move from its Essington warehouse in Warstone Road to a £15million sorting centre in Cannock which will be up and running within a year.
The move, to a purpose-built 150,000sq ft facility at Kingswood Lakeside Business Park, will allow bosses to take on 300 new staff. It currently has 250 employees.
Chiefs at APC, or Alternative Parcels Company Ltd, revealed some of the secrets which have helped it prosper in the midst of fierce competition from big rivals – profits have shot up 70 per cent.
They say the firm's flexibility has been key to attracting customers from all walks of life while an updated 'wall of shame' to discourage costly errors helped keep staff on their toes.
